The first days in a new country — disorientation, curiosity, and adaptation.
Arriving in Canada felt unreal. Everything was clean, organized, and quiet in a way I wasn't used to. My brain was still running on "Mexico mode" — the rhythm, the noise, the social cues were all different.
The airport process was smooth, but the real challenge started when I stepped outside. The air felt different. The signs were in English and French. Even the way people walked seemed calibrated to a different pace.
I kept thinking, "I'm here now. This is real." But it took weeks for my mind to actually believe it.
