Canadian classrooms assume a certain baseline of knowledge. Teachers move fast because they expect students to fill in the gaps on their own. That was the hardest adjustment.
In Mexico, teachers explained everything step by step. Here, explanations were brief, and the expectation was that you'd figure it out. It felt like being thrown into the deep end.
But the system also rewards independence. Once I adapted, I realized I was learning faster than before. The pressure forced me to grow.
