Marty

I met Marty in Mr. P's room. He was quiet at first, but we quickly found common ground in aviation. Marty knew everything about WWII military planes — the models, the engine specs, the history.

I leaned more toward commercial aviation, so we complemented each other well. He'd tell me about Spitfires, and I'd talk about Boeing 777s.

Marty was one of the first people who made me feel like I belonged. Through aviation, we built a friendship that didn't need many words.
